IV IRON INFUSION

Intraveous (IV) Iron Infusion

What is iron deficiency?

Iron deficiency happens when your iron stores (known as ferritin) drop below the healthy level of about 100Mg/ml. This can happen to anyone and is especially common in women due to monthly blood loss from menstruation. Blood tests can be done to help you identify if you are iron deficient. Depending on the severity of your condition, the doctor might advise oral supplements, diet/lifestyle changes and intravenous iron infusion.
