Frequently Asked Questions

How are urine & stool tests collected?

Your urine sample should be collected on the same day that you’re submitting the sample. However, it is recommended to avoid the very first sample in the morning after you’ve woken up. Do ensure you collect the mid-stream sample as well.

Your stool sample can be collected and submitted within 24 hours (either the night before or the morning of submission).

Do I need to fast?

Our health screening packages no longer require overnight fasting of 10-12 hours. To encourage more patients to undergo cholesterol and/or health screening, the lab has removed the fasting requirement. That's one less barrier (and excuse) for you to get your health screening done! Not to worry, the results will be just as accurate as previous fasting tests. Just remember to indicate at the time of your registration that you are not fasting.

If I prefer to fast, can I drink plain water while fasting?

Sure! Plain water is allowed during the fasting period. In fact, it is important that you stay hydrated to prevent difficulty during the blood taking process. Dehydration can cause veins to collapse easily and make blood sample collection more difficult.

When will the results come back?

Typically, the results will be ready for review within 3-5 working days. However, for certain packages or tests, longer turnaround time may be required due to laboratory processes or batch testing. You can check with us on the day of your screening!

Is consultation included in the package or will I be charged separately for the review?

The health screening packages include a 10-20 minute consultation for review of the results. This means that you will not be charged consultation charges separately, unless consultation exceeds 20 minutes. In which case, our regular consultation charges will apply.

Can I still do the health screening on my period/when I’m having my menses?

Yes, you may still opt to do the blood test component of your health screening during your period. However, it would not be ideal to undergo a Pap smear or collect urine & stool samples.

Your urine sample and/or Pap smear should be collected/performed at least 7 days before or after your menstruation cycle.
