What is CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

The EdgeOne CO2 laser is an ablative laser that works by removing the outer layers of the skin and heating the underlying layer to stimulate growth of collagen fibres.

How It's Done

A local anaesthetic (numbing cream) will be applied 30 mins prior to the treatment. Depending on the condition and areas of concern, the procedure may take 30 to 45 mins. An antibiotic ointment will be applied after the procedure to protect the treated area from infection.

is it painful?

There is minimal pain and discomfort for facial injections as numbing cream will be applied to the injection areas generously 30 mins prior to the procedure. 

what's the downtime?

Downtime of 2-3 days can be expected after the procedure. Your skin will be sensitive to sunlight and may look a little red and sunburnt afterwards. There might be tiny dots from the laser beam scattered throughout the areas that will start to scab usually after 3 days. 

what do i need to take note of right after tHE PROCEDURE?

You should be careful to avoid harsh sunlight and UV rays as your skin will be particularly sensitive after a laser treatment session. This will also prevent the risk of hyperpigmentation after the procedure.
